What will you do?

Ensures adherence to Quality Control / Management related processes and procedures, and oversees related operational and/or support activities, with specific inspection and testing teams assigned. Quality Control Leader with a technical team assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Leads an assigned inspection and testing quality control team. Prioritizes and assigns tasks to team members and checks progress of agreed activities.
  • Ensures that employees understand the consequences of not meeting EHS, customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Manages quality control related activities with internal and external parties involved, with emphasis on the inspection and testing processes for assigned products, such as: MV IEC AIS switchgear, LV motor control centers, LV boxes for GIS switchgear, MV ANSI AIS switchgear and MV ANSI outdoor vacuum circuit breakers, as required.
  • Ensures qualification and competences of the assigned team. Identifying training needs, lead training, and development of testing team members.
  • Implements the specific quality control initiatives within the respective organization and monitors the effectiveness of these initiatives.
  • Contributes to process and product safety activities.
  • Ensures real-time applicable quality control reporting for further ad-hoc analysis, instant decision making, preventive action and continuous improvement.
  • Ensures employees have all tools, equipment, and test documentation needed to work productively.
  • Participate on improvement initiatives with involved team members to assure timely and high-quality delivery of manufacturing processes and/or products required to drive success, according to the customers expectations.
  • Acts as an escalation point of contact for quality issues.

What will you need to succeed?

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
  • Minimum of (5) Five years of related test experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of test equipment required.
  • Knowledge in engineering drawings, wiring schematics and bill of materials.
  • Ability to motivate various groups of people to complete a task scheduled, solve a problem, or implement improvements.
  • Positively supports other shifts and other testing areas, as appropriate.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills and strong organizational/planning skills.
  • Digital literacy required including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams) and ability to learn additional software packages, as required.
  • Understands KPIs for quality, current standing on the KPIs, and actions to improve.
  • Knowledge in ISO 9001, 14001, & 45001 standards preferred.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned products in area of responsibility preferred.
  • SAP, and Team Center experience preferred.
  • Experience in an Engineer to Order environment preferred.
  • Understanding of Lean principles and practices preferred.
