What you will do:

1. Equipment Performance & Uptime

  • Own and drive OEE, MTBA, and MTTR improvement initiatives for molding tools (e.g., Towa, ASM, Hanmi, or equivalent).
  • Perform in-depth troubleshooting and failure analysis to ensure minimal equipment downtime.
  • Establish and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance plans to sustain equipment health.

2. Equipment Introduction & Qualification

  • Lead the installation, setup, and buy-off of new molding equipment and tooling.
  • Drive qualification activities including IQ, OQ, PQ to ensure equipment readiness for production.
  • Collaborate with process engineering to align equipment configuration with product requirements.

3. Process-Equipment Integration

  • Work with process engineering to define and maintain molding parameters for optimal quality and throughput.
  • Resolve issues related to flash, voids, resin bleed, and package deformation by fine-tuning equipment conditions.
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action (CA) implementation for molding-related quality issues.

4. Automation & Cost Efficiency

  • Identify opportunities for automation and process simplification to reduce manpower dependency and cycle time.
  • Drive equipment upgrades, retrofits, and technology improvements to improve productivity and reduce cost per unit.
  • Engage with global suppliers and internal teams to benchmark and adopt best-in-class molding technologies.

5. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain all relevant equipment documentation including PM procedures, FMEA, machine history cards, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Ensure compliance to safety, ESD, and ISO/Automotive quality standards.

6. Cross-functional & Vendor Collaboration

  • Work closely with maintenance, production, process, and quality teams for seamless operations.
  • Liaise with equipment vendors for technical support, upgrades, parts management, and performance enhancement.
  • Participate in equipment-related audits and present performance reports to management and customers when needed.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • More than 5 years of experience in semiconductor molding equipment engineering in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience with transfer molding, compression molding, and mold tool setup is essential.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Deep technical knowledge of molding equipment platforms such as Towa, ASM, Hanmi, etc.
  • Strong hands-on experience in machine troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance strategy development.
  • Familiar with equipment control systems (PLC, HMI), and able to interpret schematics and technical drawings.
  • Proficient in OEE analysis, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving tools.
