Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer will plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing processes in an industrial plant. The role involves maintaining the sequence of operations to produce parts in conformance with product drawings, specifying and designing tooling, developing and maintaining documentation including NC and CNC programs, and acting as a shop liaison to solve manufacturing problems. The engineer will focus on maintaining production schedules, implementing corrective actions, and identifying design features to ensure lowest product costs. Continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to enhance quality, reduce costs, and support ISO-9000, QS-9000, TS-, and 6-SIGMA procedures is also essential.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain sequence of operations to produce parts in conformance with product drawings.
  • Specify and design tooling required to produce parts.
  • Develop and maintain documentation including NC and CNC programs and operational drawings.
  • Specify and design gauging and frequency.
  • Act as shop liaison to solve manufacturing problems and maintain production schedules.
  • Identify and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring problems, maintain quality, delivery schedules, and product cost.
  • Identify manufacturability features on product designs to maintain lowest product cost.
  • Implement continuous improvements of manufacturing processes to reduce cost and lead-time, and improve quality.
  • Develop, comply with, and support ISO-9000, QS-9000, TS-, and 6-SIGMA procedures and work instructions.

  • Five plus years of experience as a Manufacturing/Process Engineer.
  • Previous gearing and machining experience.
  • Automation knowledge.
  • Mazatrol or G&M code training.
  • CNC grinding experience.
  • Lean/Continuous Improvement expertise.

Work Environment

The work environment is a well-established manufacturing facility where 70% of the time is spent on the floor and 30% in the office. Approximately 10-20% of the time involves programming and troubleshooting. The facility offers the opportunity to gain experience in improving the manufacturing process of small and large gears, supporting long-term projects. The role requires hands-on collaboration with engineering and the manufacturing team to enhance efficiency in a process that has been in place for 20-30 years.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $58.00/hr.
