Position Summary
The School of Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering is seeking a dependable, personable individual to join our team as an administrative assistant. As the first point of contact for the department, we are looking for an individual with a history of successful customer service-related administrative employment.
The successful candidate will complete a variety of administrative support duties for the department. This requires a range of skills and a knowledge of UNM policies and procedures. Specifically, this individual will:
This position is integral to the department and requires an individual who is committed to being in the office from 8 AM-5 PM Monday through Friday with reliable transportation and the ability to arrive on time. Individuals with experience in government agency purchasing processes, particularly in a university setting, and individuals with demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications (Word and Excel) are strongly encouraged to apply. The ability to communicate and interact with a diverse cross-section of individuals in a clear and understandable manner is critical.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Pay Hourly: $17.39 - $22.07 Benefits Eligible This is a benefits eligible position.
