Aurora’s Product and Development Operations team is making the technology of the future a reality. We are at the fore-front of technology, providing thought partnership to product, operations & engineering and ensuring commercial operations capabilities are delivered on time, safely and efficiently.

Our Tactical Development Operations team is looking for a Program Manager to join the team and play a pivotal role supporting lane expansions, market launches and operational excellence initiatives. You will be based in Pittsburgh and will be expected to travel frequently, working closely with a multidisciplinary team in operations and engineering. This role is highly organized, mission driven, and possesses excellent communication with a complete understanding of risk analysis and management. In markets you will support operational staff with the execution of critical autonomous vehicle testing activities and adoption of new tools and features. In this role, you will

  • Travel to new markets and launch sites to enable a team of operators (both commercial trucks and passenger vehicles)
  • Act as POC for key commercial operations programmes and offer regular updates to the leadership team
  • Support process improvements initiatives, conducting time studies and facilitating Kaizen events & Gemba walks
  • Interact with the public as an ambassador for Aurora
  • Understand all major Aurora initiatives and programs, with the intention of communicating essential information to your team of direct reports
  • Lead by example and support building on individual strengths and opportunities, to ensure continuous growth and development
  • Follow all Aurora policies and adhere to the Vehicle Operations Manual
  • Become certified as a Vehicle Operator, Terminal Operator and (or) Dispatcher to support excess in-vehicle testing and to better understand day to day operations

Required Qualifications

  • Safety focused
  • Ability to lead by example, and motivate teams.
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment.
  • Comfortable with regular travel up to 50% per annum
  • Flexible schedule with ability to work days, nights and (or) weekends when required
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license with at least 5 years of driving history and a clean driving record, validated by MVR check

Desirable Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in operations, program management, ideally in a rapidly growing industry/business
  • Background in management consulting, industrial engineering and (or) tech
  • Experience setting goals for self and others
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills with ability to adjust for audience
  • Intermediate technical aptitude and ability to learn new software applications and processes
  • The ability to operate independently when given prior clear direction
  • Strong organizational skills

The base salary wage range for this position is $84K-$135K per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
