Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Revenue Accountant to oversee the development and implementation of a robust consignment inventory process that will allow us to expand our online presence and participate across all e-commerce platforms. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring internal controls, ensuring compliance with financial standards, and managing risks associated with consignment sales. The ideal candidate will have a public accounting background, a CPA certification, and exceptional communication skills to collaborate effectively across sales, sales operations, finance, operations, and IT teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Development: Design and implement a comprehensive consignment inventory process, including policies, procedures, and workflows to ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and risk management.
  • Internal Controls: Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard consignment inventory, mitigate financial risks, and ensure compliance with US GAAP accounting standards in a public reporting environment.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage financial and operational risks associated with consignment sales, including inventory loss, revenue recognition, and retailer compliance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between sales, sales operations, finance, operations, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of consignment processes and systems.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee accurate and timely financial reporting related to consignment inventory, including reconciliations, revenue recognition, and cost tracking.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, contractual obligations, and internal policies, coordinating with external auditors as needed.
  • System Integration: Work with IT to implement and optimize systems for consignment tracking, ensuring data integrity and process efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Provide clear, concise, and actionable updates to internal stakeholders and the retailer, addressing concerns and aligning on process improvements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor and evaluate consignment processes, recommending enhancements to improve efficiency, reduce risks, and support business growth.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on internal controls, risk management, or consignment processes.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills; strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and inventory management systems.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across multiple functions and present complex financial information clearly.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to assess risks, design controls, and optimize processes.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with diverse teams, including sales, operations, and IT.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and process documentation.
  • Preferred: Experience with SAP S4 Hana and consignment inventory processes or working with large retailers is a plus.
