The Position

The Opportunity

Join our dynamic team as the Finance and Operations Manager for Diagnostics South Africa & SADC. This pivotal role is based in Johannesburg, South Africa, and offers the opportunity to lead and manage the financial health, compliance, and finance processes across our organization. You will spearhead supply chain operations and procurement to optimize customer experience and value, reporting directly to the General Manager of Diagnostics South Africa & SADC and functionally to the Finance Manager Africa Network.

The role reports to the General Manager, Diagnostics South Africa & SADC and the Finance Manager of the Diagnostics Africa Network.

Key Challenges:

  • Strategic Business Partnership: Act as a strategic advisor to the General Manager of Diagnostics South Africa & SADC, providing critical recommendations and directions to the Local Leadership team.
  • Financial Planning and Management: Advise on mid- and long-term business and financial planning, formulate financial targets and budgets, and manage the financial operations for the South Africa & SADC cluster.
  • P&L and Compliance Oversight: Handle the company's P&L and Net Operating Assets, implement internal control frameworks, and ensure overall financial compliance with local laws and Roche guidelines.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure timely, efficient, and effective functional delivery of Operations & Services in Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Procurement.
  • Process Optimization: Drive cross-functional process standardization, automation, and integration in collaboration with relevant local stakeholders.
  • Network Contribution: Play a key role in developing the Africa Finance Network and supporting Finance Transformation on the African Continent and beyond.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven track record as a Head of Finance or Finance Manager.
  • Leadership abilities and experience in people management, preferably in a matrix/agile organization.
  • Knowledge of Africa and experience in a similar role is an asset.
  • Master’s Degree with a major in Finance is preferred.
  • Strong technical finance expertise and commercial acumen.
  • In-depth understanding of cash flow management, budgeting, risk management, data analysis, and forecasting models.
  • Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in other languages spoken in the markets is a plus.
