Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Works with other team members to solve difficult technical, engineering related problems. Supports or leads continuous improvement activities, new product or process introductions and cost reduction projects. Supports drive to fundamental process understanding and lowest cost producer objectives. Supports the development and execution of plans to evaluate new technology or improvements in existing technology resulting in a superior product in terms of quality and/or cost. Understands Corning's Intellectual property management processes and follows that process in documenting any intellectual property developed as part of a project
o Ensure the manufacturing process is aligned to the documented standard
o Continuously monitor and analyze process performance data to provide early warning of deviations and ensure process is operating to expected global standards
o Identify, propose, and evaluate changes to the process to improve control, stability and efficiency
o Implement local changes to the global process standard in accordance with the global change management process
o Complete assigned projects that include product evolutions, process improvements, and modifications to existing products to meet customer requirements.
o Support of production, quality control, and purchasing by evaluating discrepancies with materials, communicating with suppliers, and troubleshooting as needed.
o Meet plant cost reduction goals through process and productivity improvements and efficiently managing consumables and operating supplies
o Establish new Bills of Materials (BOM) and update existing BOM’s as required
o Routine BOM issue for error free operation
o Establish a BOM tracking system from products inquiry to the end of products shipping.
o Maintain and update plant BOM record and related documentation as the latest.
o Maintain the correct routine in PTS/QAD system.
o Check the routine before release the WO.
o Provide a close support to SCM and customer service for order review/inquiry to ensure the on-time delivery.
o To be a coordinator for customized order
