The individual in the position is responsible for the coordination of the Oncology Program. In collaboration with the Director, referring physicians and interdisciplinary team(s), 1) coordinates multidisciplinary
conferences and subsequent specialty consultations; 2) provides care as needed for patients and their families utilizing resources efficiently and effectively. The coordinator assists in development and performance of specialty service educational activities, program evaluation and outcomes research. Performs all duties in a manner which promotes team concept and reflects the mission and philosophy of UF Health Jacksonville.
Required Education:
High School Diploma or GED

Associate�s Degree
Required Licensure/Certifications:
BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Effective October 25, 2022 must obtain Medical Assistant certification within six (6) months of date of hire/transfer into the position. Current employees who were hired or transferred into the position prior to October 25, 2022 will be grandfathered.

Required Experience:
1-2 years in a Clinical/healthcare environment
Necessary Skills:
1. Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
2. Computer proficiency � MS Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) or ability to learn new software quickly
3. Must be able to work collaboratively as part of a team in a busy clinical practice.
4. Ability to assist physicians as a Medical Assistant in the clinical environment.
5. Maturity, self-confidence and interpersonal skills necessary to facilitate and coordinate a multidisciplinary team and relate effectively with patients and families from a variety of backgrounds and with varied medical needs.
6. Awareness and knowledge of the health care financial environment, reimbursement, levels of care, and insurance authorization process.
7. Knowledge of community resources.
