Your role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantitative Data Analyst to join our electronic trading execution quant team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Python data analysis and visualization, along with excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

  • Perform data analysis and visualization using Python, leveraging libraries such as pandas, numpy, matplotlib, and seaborn.
  • Maintain transaction cost analysis reports and conduct in-depth analysis of trading performance.
  • Present data findings through comprehensive visualizations and reports.
  • Collaborate with Sales & Trading teams to gather requirements and deliver actionable insights.
  • Communicate findings effectively in English to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Your team

The Shanghai Quantitative Analytics Group of UBS is an entrepreneurial, cross-asset team focusing on building the market-leading analytics across all asset classes and provides comprehensive quantitative analysis support to all business units throughout the Investment Bank in all regions. In collaboration with sales and trading, the team also develops bespoke solutions for clients according to their investment objectives and constraints, well positioned to take advantage of the fast growing FinTech trend. It was established in 2006 and located in Lu Jia Zui Financial Town of Shanghai Pudong. It has a stable team of quantitative analysts, structurer and developers with a diverse academic background (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics and Financial Engineering).

Your expertise

  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis and visualization. Familiarity with data analysis libraries such as pandas, numpy, matplotlib, and seaborn.
  • Strong programming skills and the ability to write clean, efficient code.
  • Prior experience in data analysis is preferred.
  • Good English verbal communication skills. Comfortable with a role that involves significant communication and collaboration.
  • 0-3 years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of kdb is a plus.
  • Understanding of financial markets and transaction cost analysis.
