The Cincinnati Insurance Companies are currently seeking undergraduate intern(s) for our IT Desktop Support and Infrastructure / Networking Systems Intern(s). Our successful candidates will want to gain a meaningful work experience with us for Fall 2025. This role is onsite and based out of our Headquarters in Fairfield, Ohio.

Desktop Support Intern(s)

  • learning new development tools and technical stacks with hands on development projects
  • build/configure Windows workstations for associates
  • perform advanced software/hardware troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • troubleshoot and respond to user questions
  • track and update open calls and/or escalate problems
  • assist with documenting, maintaining, upgrades or replacing hardware and software systems

Infrastructure / Networking Systems Intern(s)

  • maintain and support by completing low to medium complexity work orders (e.g. cables, server retirements, equipment delivery, labeling etc.)
  • the installation and uninstallation of network hardware with assistance from higher level technicians
  • participate in equipment and CDU audits
  • monitor data center footprint and capacities
  • provide support to operational infrastructure staff

Be equipped with/to (may vary by role/department):

  • assist with business activities and processes
  • participate and contribute to team meetings, presentations, and projects
  • research emerging trends, data analysis, and evaluate options
  • generate reports, promotional/educational materials, and other work products
  • serve internal and external customers
  • understanding of computer networks (TCP/IP protocol, load balancing, monitoring, etc.), Linux/Windows server platform, virtualization, cloud computing concepts
  • understanding of front-end/back-end or full-stack development concepts
  • effective communication skills with the ability to effectively explain technical concepts to non-technical audience
  • ability to interact effectively with management and colleagues to prioritize and organize work
  • willingness to continually learn new technologies, skills, and improved processes
  • reliable and service-oriented mindset

Starting Pay: Begins at $18 per hour and is based on the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Candidates should have the ability to work in the United States for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship. Our company is not currently hiring interns for this role if they will need sponsorship at any time in the future, including Optional Practical Training (OPT) or Curricular Practical Training (CPT).

Requirements:

  • enrolled as a full-time, undergraduate student at an accredited college/university (sophomore or above preferred)
  • all majors are welcome to apply
  • collegiate transcripts required with submission of candidate profile (unofficial are acceptable)
  • in good academic standing (cumulative GPA: 3.0 or higher preferred)
  • must be able to work an average of 24 hours per week
  • proficient in Microsoft® Office tools and related software
