Primary function of position
Intuitive Surgical, Inc. produces the da Vinci® Surgical System, a minimally invasive robotic surgery system that uses highly complex mechanics, replaceable instruments and accessories, and enhanced three-dimensional visualization to extend surgical technique and precision beyond the limits of the human hand.
The Software Test Engineer will test new and innovative surgical energy generators and robotic instrument products for the Intuitive da Vinci Surgical System. He or she must excel in a high-energy team environment and be a quick learner. The successful candidate must have exceptional technical depth in relevant areas, and have a track record of being detail oriented in project understanding and testing.
- Represent Software Engineering on cross-functional project teams that design, test and develop next generation electrosurgical generator and robotic instrument products
- Work closely with the hardware, software and system engineering teams to test engineering changes and verify design requirements and to ensure design outputs are successfully integrated into effective system designs.
- Support robotic instrument and generator development & testing across multiple development platforms.
- Develop automated test scripts to increase the efficiency of detecting software anomalies.
- Develop test methodologies to perform manual or automated software verification.
- Provide engineering support for resolution of field and manufacturing issues.
