Summary of Position:
The Electrical Designer plays a critical role in developing and drafting electrical system designs that meet Liberty Energy’s high standards for safety, efficiency, and innovation. This role spans multiple experience levels and offers growth opportunities through progressively challenging responsibilities. Electrical Designers are responsible for producing and modifying electrical drawings and models, ensuring code compliance, and supporting cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Reliability, and Operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical system design, excellent CAD proficiency, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma/equivalent and accredited certification for SolidWorks Design Software or relevant degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design, Drafting, or a related field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent CAD software.
- Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) systems for version control and documentation.
- Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (NEC, CSA, IEEE, NFPA).
- Demonstrated ability to perform or assist with voltage drop, conduit fill, and cable bend radius calculations.
- Familiarity with drafting principles and best practices in electrical design.
- Experience designing systems for large-scale equipment.
- Strong teamwork, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel to Liberty Energy locations and vendors as required.
EXPERIENCE TIERS
- Designer I: 2–5 years of relevant experience in electrical or control systems design.
- Designer II: 5–10 years of progressively responsible experience in electrical and/or controls design, preferably in energy or heavy equipment industries.
- Designer III: 10+ years leading large-scale system design efforts, mentoring junior staff, and supporting full project lifecycles from concept to commissioning.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Creates and revises electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using CAD tools.
- Ensures compliance with NEC, CSA, IEEE, NFPA, and company design standards.
- Conducts code compliance checks and support regulatory audits or reviews.
- Participates in design reviews, manufacturing studies, and interdisciplinary collaboration efforts.
- Contributes to layout decisions in coordination with mechanical teams, considering weight, cable routing, and system integration.
- Identifies design flaws, recommends improvements, and iterates on designs, as necessary.
- Contributes to the selection of appropriate materials and components for the mechanical systems, considering factors like cost, availability, and sustainability.
- Develops and maintains bills of materials (BOMs), specifications, and technical documentation.
- Provides field verification, installation, and commissioning support when required.
- Mentors junior designers and support continuous learning and improvement initiatives.
- Maintains and expands proficiency in design tools and electrical system knowledge.
- Assists in improving design standards and best practices for electrical systems.

Salary:
$65,000/YR - $115,000/YR
Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
