As a Automation CNC Programming Engineer, you will be asked to create multi-axis CNC Programs while supporting the daily operation of automation equipment that is used in the production of Nacelles and Aerostructure components. You will also assist with the integration of new technological innovations for manufacturing, assembly, and component handling.

What YOU will do:

  • Create CNC G-CODE Programs for Multi-axis Milling centers, and Robots that will be used to manufacturer production aerospace components.
  • Develop and implement improvements to new and existing automation in the Machine Shop, Composite Shop, and Mechanical assembly areas.
  • Define and develop maintenance programs, critical Spares list and end user documentation.
  • Work with a team to manage equipment purchase and installation
  • Participate in meetings with other team members and hourly associates
  • Design, Model, and create drawings that will be used for tools, gauges, and shop aids.
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere to trouble shoot and maintain CNC machines, and robotic systems.
  • Basic knowledge of PLC’s, low voltage controls, vision systems. Electronic sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and robotics.
  • Hands-on experience with SIEMENS 840D and FANUC 30i and FAGOR CNC Controllers.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration capabilities

What YOU must bring to Succeed:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university or college. Please note an associate degree with 2+ years of work experience in operating multi-axis CNC manufacturing Automation equipment or no degree and 3+ years of work experience in operating multi-axis CNC manufacturing Automation equipment can be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.

Desired Characteristics

  • 3+ years’ experience in Aerospace Machine Shop and Composites Manufacturing is preferred.
  • Completion of a Machine shop program in High School or college with an introduction to CNC programming is preferred.
  • Experience with CATIA Numerical Control Programming or similar CAD/CAM software.
  • Robotic Offline Programing experience.
  • Mechanical or Electrical Drawing interpretation and creation
  • Continuous Improvement (5S, TPM, Quick Change, Poke-Yoke, D.I.V.E. and VSM)
  • CAD Fixture design.
  • Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing)
  • Certificate showing successful Completion of CATIA V5 learning course.

Estimate salary range for this role: $63,600 to $93,000 per year. ST Engineering considers several factors with extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, education/training/certification, job level, and work location. Base salary is only one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.
