Role: Assistant Controller

Position Overview:

The Assistant Controller will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This position involves close collaboration with the Controller and other departments to maintain efficient accounting practices and provide key financial insights that drive informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily financial operations to ensure accurate recording and classification of financial transactions.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to guarantee accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
  • Maintain the general ledger, including creating and reviewing journal entries (cash and accrual-based) to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, identify and resolve any discrepancies promptly, and maintain accurate cash balances.
  • Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, verification, and timely payments.
  • Generate and present financial reports, insights, and analysis to management to support strategic planning and budgeting.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls.
  • Support audit processes by preparing necessary documentation and liaising with auditors to ensure smooth and successful audits.
  • Assist in tax compliance activities, including preparation and submission of required tax documents.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or similar certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel functions, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger principles, including cash and accrual accounting.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to manage priorities effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
