Danfoss

Job Description

Do you want to shape the future of intelligent machine control

At Danfoss Power Solutions, we’re looking for a System & Control Engineer to develop, integrate, and validate cutting-edge electric & electrohydraulic steering systems for off-highway machinery. This is your opportunity to translate real-world customer needs into advanced, high-performing solutions — all while working in a global, cross-functional team committed to innovation and sustainability.

Job Responsibilities

As our new System & Control Engineer, you’ll take part in the full development cycle — from initial concept to final validation — of advanced electrohydraulic steering systems. You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams, customers, and external partners to develop intelligent steering functions that meet demanding functional safety requirements

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Translating customer requirements into technical concepts, system architectures, and functional safety specifications
  • Developing model-based control systems using MATLAB/Simulink
  • Performing integration and validation testing in internal and external labs
  • Supporting customers with troubleshooting and application design to optimize system performance
  • Leading proof-of-concept development for new electric & electrohydraulic steering technologies
  • Collaborating with universities and external partners on modeling and simulation to enhance product capabilities
  • Contributing to quality claim analysis and continuous improvement initiative

What Success Looks Like

  • Electric & Electrohydraulic steering products and systems that meet or exceed customer expectations
  • High-performing steering functions with best-in-class functional safety
  • Strong collaboration and fast response times with customers and internal teams
  • Simulation models that enable faster development and system optimization

Background & Skills

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring curiosity, collaboration, and a structured engineering mindset. Ideally, you have:

  • A B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electronics, Software, or Mechatronics Engineering
  • Experience in product development (new graduates are also encouraged to apply)
  • Knowledge of control engineering — both theoretical and practical
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink and model-based system design
  • Familiarity with functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 or IEC 61508 (a plus)
  • Understanding of hydraulic systems and off-highway applications (a plus)
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
