Summary
With minimum supervision, plans and designs the orderly and economic expansion of the electric system to meet present and future demand while providing high quality, reliable electric service at a competitive cost.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned. Directly or through others, the incumbent:
- With minimum supervision, prepares plans, standards, and operating procedures consistent with good engineering practice.
- With minimum supervision, accurately develops and maintains complex computer models of the electric delivery system that are used to simulate the operation of the electric delivery system.
- Incorporates personnel and public safety as a priority in the design and operation of system projects.
- Effectively communicates and resolves most issues with other work groups while presenting detailed documentation and plans ranging from slightly complex to complex design.
- Effectively manages a significant number of projects while maintaining work product quality, reliability, and volume.
- Promotes environmental responsibility, corporate citizenship, and ethical conduct while setting a standard of excellence.
Education & Experience
- Associate Engineer
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
- Applicants with 0-2 years of applicable engineering experience are encouraged to apply.
- Engineer
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
- Applicants with 2-3 years of electric utility experience are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to learn quickly with moderate, close supervision.
Skills
- SQL (Structured Query Language)/ Python experience is preferred
- Ability to apply complex analysis to identify the best solution to a technical problem, and to effectively communicate and commit to a course of action that is consistent with all legal, regulatory, code, standard, or other requirements as well as corporate policies and procedures; ability to lead, direct , and motivate others.

- Technical issues are timely and effectively resolved, documented, and communicated.
- Recommended solutions meet all legal, regulatory, and safety requirements.
