Actalent is searching for an Embedded Software Developer in Ottawa!

Job Description

Join our dynamic engineering team in Ottawa, You will be involved in porting the existing board support package to new boards, encompassing build target creation, driver modifications, and comprehensive testing. This role offers the opportunity to engage from the initial phases of development, setting up requirements, and executing release activities under the guidance of the Software Lead.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, design, develop, and test new embedded products utilizing cutting-edge technology.
• Support and enhance existing embedded software systems.
• Apply established development processes and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
• Analyze requirements, research solutions, and develop design plans.
• Conduct architecture, design, and code reviews to ensure quality standards.
• Provide input and evaluation of new technologies and products.
• Stay updated with embedded software trends and share expertise within the team.
• Read and interpret IC datasheets, register descriptions, and board schematics.
• Participate in maintaining a positive and productive atmosphere within the team.

Essential Skills:

• 4+ years of full cycle embedded development & testing (problem solving & troubleshooting mindset)
• Software development & design in C and Python
• Software testing (unit test, integration test, systems test, regression test)
• Experience with 1 of these: network switching software development, VxWorks (BSP, device drivers development), UEFI/BIOS firmware development

Workplace Type:

This is a hybrid role that requires being on-site 3 days a week in Kanata. You can work remotely on Monday and Friday.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
