Sr. Electrical Engineers – IoT Embedded Systems

JOB DESCRIPTION
- Lead the design, prototype, test, and troubleshooting of platform embedded electronics firmware and hardware for Internet of Things (IoT) wireless systems and applications to meet the needs of the organization.
- Use laboratory equipment such as network, power, spectrum, and protocol analyzers, oscilloscopes, and data acquisition systems.
- Conduct experiments, perform simulations, and draw concise, logical conclusions by analyzing data.
- Create test plans for electronic components and assemblies within scope of project or platform development.
- Provide candid and effective communications up, down and across the organization on progress, barrier removal, and escalation of business risks/opportunities.
- Work with component suppliers and manufacturers for proper component selection on existing projects and provide input into future product needs.
- Demonstrate company's culture of high performance and agility by independently creating Work Breakdown Structure and driving to critical milestones.
- Drive urgency in project schedules and accountability for establishing and achieving key project metrics that meet the organization’s needs.
- Serve as a role model of company’s culture while mentoring, guiding, and coaching junior Engineers. Grow the ability to lead and manage a small team.
- Design and qualify new solutions to applicable wireless regulatory certification standards such as FCC, IC, and CE.
- Supervise 3-5 Electrical Engineers.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, or foreign degree equivalent, and 5 years of progressively more responsible relevant experience as an Electrical Engineer, or alternate related acceptable occupation; OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, or foreign degree equivalent, and 2 years of relevant experience as an Electrical Engineer, or alternate related acceptable occupation.
Work or academic experience must have included:
- Embedded programming, schematic capture, PCB layout, antenna tuning, circuit simulation, power analysis, analog & digital system design trade-offs (C and Python).
- Bluetooth protocol (Core spec 5.1, 5.2, 5.3) and related advanced technologies (Channel Sounding, HADM, AoA/AoD Direction Finding, or PAwR, LE Coded PHY).
- Short-range wireless protocols (WiFi, Zigbee or NFC).
- Long-range wireless protocols (LTE, 5G, 5G-NR or sub-GHz RFs).
- GNSS technologies (GPS, SBAS, or Network/Base-Rover RTK).
- IoT messaging protocols (MQTT or AT-commands) and relevant cloud integrations (AWS/GCP).
- Sensors (IMUs, hall-effect, or barometric).
10% of domestic and international travel required.
