We're seeking a highly organized and Bilingual Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our client's team at a respected law firm in the heart of Downtown! As a key member of the finance team, you'll play a vital role in managing client accounts and ensuring the smooth operation of the firm's financial processes.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and follow up on overdue accounts, communicating with clients in English and French to discuss account status, arrange payments, and resolve outstanding balances
  • Track and escalate accounts over 60 days past due, maintaining active Bring-Forward reminders, managing assessments, writs, and collection agency files, and preparing files for collections
  • Respond to client inquiries, provide payment plan options, process payments, and follow up on non-compliance
  • Maintain accurate records of postdated cheques, generate monthly Accounts Receivable reports, and analyze account activity
  • Write off bad debts, process credit card payments for General and Trust accounts, and support staff and lawyers with account-related inquiries
  • Collaborate with the CFO to discuss problem accounts, inform clients about overpayments, process refunds, and determine next steps for delinquent accounts, including sending final demand letters or assigning to collection agencies
  • Other duties as assigned

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-year experience in a similar role or relevant education in accounting or a related field
  • Fluency in both English and French
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Customer service-oriented with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Multitasking and prioritization skills
  • Diploma or degree in Accounting is an asset

The salary for this position is $50,000 per year.

Monday to Friday from 9:00am – 5:00pm.
