Job Description:

Using Autodesk Moldflow computer aided engineering simulation software, this position will be responsible for recommending injection molded part design modifications, optimization of injection mold design and molding process conditions, and provide technical support for injection molded part issues such as failures due to short shot, warpage, cracking, and tolerances. The successful candidate should be knowledgeable in injection molded part design, injection mold design, polymers and injection molding processing and part inspection procedures. This position requires close interaction with Part Designers, Component Engineers, Development Engineers, Designers and external customers. In addition, the person in this position will act as a mentor of plastics engineering principles and part design to Development Engineers and Designers.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of a B.S. degree in Plastics Engineering, Polymers Engineering or Mechanical Engineering required
• 5+ years experience in injection molding field using Autodesk Moldflow software required
• Autodesk Moldflow Expert (previously Gold) Certification preferred
• Experience with injection molding field, plastics engineering including flow simulation, plastic part design, and injection mold design
• Demonstrated understanding and successful application of plastics engineering principles
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of the organization
• Experience in creating/modifying 3D solid models in NX is preferred, but not necessary
