Staff Engineer, PCB Layout

Analog Devices is seeking a highly skilled senior PCB layout engineer to join our product applications team, supporting high-performance solutions in aerospace and defense communication systems.

This role is ideal for experienced professionals who excel in PCB layout design, signal integrity optimization, and complex multi-layer board development.

Working on new technology development, you will design cutting-edge integrated modules and subsystems for EW, communication, and phased array radar systems. In this position, you will work in a collaborative team environment primarily interfacing with digital, RF, and mechanical design engineers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design dense and complex PCBs with a wide variety of component types, signal requirements, and board fabrication technologies
  • Define layer stack-ups (up to 32), optimize routing for signal integrity, and apply DFx principles
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop state-of-the-art HW solutions.
  • Conduct detailed board design reviews
  • Provide technical support for all inquiries regarding PCB fabrication and fab notes internally & externally from suppliers. Able to track and respond to vendor technical queries (TQs)
  • Ensure compliance with IPC standards and best practices for PCB fabrication and assembly

Qualifications and Prerequisites:

  • BS or MS degree in electrical engineering with at least 7 years industry experience
  • Strong expertise in high-speed PCB design, transmission line theory, and signal integrity
  • Experience with HDI high-layer count boards, staggered microvias, blind/burried vias, back drilling (FPGAs, DDR4, LPDDR5, 32Gbps serial interfaces)
  • Strong understanding of digital, analog, linear and mixed-signal circuit fundamentals is required
  • Prior experience with Cadence CAD tools (System Capture, Allegro, etc.) is highly valued.
  • Prior experience with 3D CAD tools is highly valued.
  • Prior experience with design for EMC is highly valued.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to design challenges
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional technical environment
  • Excellent written and verbal English communications skills is a must
