The Role

Moderna is seeking an Associate Director, Field Analytics & Commercial Insights to lead the execution of data-driven analytics and performance reporting in support of our U.S. field team. This role plays a critical part in shaping how customer engagement insights inform field deployment, performance optimization, and resource planning.

The Associate Director will serve as a key partner to Sales, Digital, and Marketing teams by delivering insights and recommendations that enhance field execution. While the role is primarily U.S.-focused, there will be opportunities to collaborate with global teams to align on methodologies and share best practices.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

Field Analytics Execution

  • Lead the development of segmentation, targeting models, call plans, and territory alignments to support customer engagement
  • Generate health care organization (HCO) and health care provider (HCP) target lists using statistical methods
  • Execute field force sizing and workload balancing analyses in collaboration with Sales Ops and Commercial teams

Performance Reporting & KPI Tracking

  • Create and maintain KPI dashboards and field performance reports in partnership with Digital and Sales Ops
  • Translate complex commercial and field activity data into actionable insights to guide execution
  • Highlight trends and surface performance risks or optimization opportunities across regions and therapeutic areas

Incentive Compensation Support

  • Support the design and tracking of incentive compensation plans by delivering performance analytics and territory-level insights
  • Collaborate on sales crediting validation and attainment measurement throughout the IC cycle

Commercial Insight Development

  • Deliver structured insight reports to field leadership on customer engagement effectiveness, resource utilization, and team performance
  • Provide data-driven input into tactical planning discussions with Sales and aligned Commercial partners

Systems & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Digital and Data Strategy teams to ensure CRM, MDM, and reporting platforms meet field business needs
  • Serve as analytics representative in cross-functional meetings related to field planning, system enhancements, or reporting needs

Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
  • 8+ years’ experience, primarily in the pharmaceutical/health care industry with experience in field analytics, commercial insights or sales operations
  • Technical proficiency in SQL, Python or R, and BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Experience working with pharmaceutical commercial datasets (e.g., IQVIA, claims, chargebacks)
  • Ability to travel as needed

  • Strong interpersonal abilities and capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and agilely
  • Hands on experience or knowledgeable in statistical and machine learning models
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment
  • Field analytics experience
  • Ability to influence decision-making and gain the respect, collaboration and support of stakeholders without line-authority
