Assembly Process Technician II - Client Onsite

Work Location: Mountain View, CA

Our Assembly Process Technician is responsible for timely and precise assembly processing and equipment support.

Scope:

  • Applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues
  • Works on problems of moderate scope
  • Receives general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects

Your Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform assembly of precision components in cleanroom environments with attention to detail in compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Maintain, align and/or calibrate complex assembly equipment to meet the operational specifications
  • Troubleshoot and reconfigure assembly tools per the required and evolving testing processes
  • Support both fully automated equipment as well as manual tooling in the assembly environment
  • Support continuous improvement efforts and stabilization of processing with constant attention to detail and proactive communication of anomalies to key stakeholders
  • Exercise judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action
  • Ensure that the nuances of the evolving production plans are followed and the results are communicated
  • Read and implement technical processes in sequence for assembly
  • Record results of experiments and assembly processing with strong attention to detail and data integrity
  • Analyze and interpret data with the ability to identify pass/fail results
  • Ensure compliance to operating procedures utilizing precision measuring equipment
  • May direct and coordinate demand schedules and resolves bottlenecks in the assembly process
  • Collaborate on and assemble test platforms—creating the hardware interfaces (“stuff”) that enable lab utilization, including fixturing, wiring, and cooling solutions.
  • Design and assemble wire harnesses.
  • Capture, escalate, and diagnose hardware and software issues that arise during commissioning and maintenance of test platforms.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from four-college or university and 2 to 5 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 years of technician experience
  • Automotive experience
  • Builds productive internal and external working relationships
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
  • Ability to read technical documentation on manufacturing processes and understand implementation with minimal supervision
  • Basic knowledge of electronics—understanding what, how, and why.
  • Entry-level wire harness knowledge—crimping, connector types, wire gauge, etc.
  • Exposure to Linux/shell environments.
  • Self-starting, proactive attitude and a commitment to Getting Stuff Done.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Automotive trade school, equivalent training, or hands-on experience.
  • Automotive and/or electronics diagnostics experience.
  • Basic fabrication skills (e.g., cutting metal/wood, using power tools to create parts).
  • Familiarity with electronic design, oscilloscope usage, and digital multimeter (DMM) measurements.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, clean room or assembly environment

Physical Demand & Work Environment:

  • Must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing
  • Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment
  • Must be able to use a computer
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively
  • Some positions may require occasional repetitive motion or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers

Salary Range

$21.27 - $33.58 USD (Hourly)

  • Further, the salary information noted above is a range that consists of a minimum and maximum rate of pay for this specific position. Where an applicant or employee is placed on this range will depend and be contingent on objective, documented work-related considerations like education, experience, certifications, licenses, preferred qualifications, among other factors.
