Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY: The Manager Revenue Management Data Science plays a critical role in shaping and advancing pricing, promotion, and customer segmentation strategies using sophisticated data science and advanced analytics. They will lead a data science team focused on leveraging data to optimize pricing and drive promotional decisions. across our cruise offerings. This role is key to developing smarter pricing strategies, forecasting demand, and supporting commercial decisions through actionable insights. This position works closely with cross-functional partners across marketing, sales, and technology to ensure our revenue systems evolve with the business and deliver measurable value.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support, maintain, and improve the current revenue management system, ensuring alignment with evolving analytics capabilities and business needs.
- Lead a team of analysts and developers, providing day-to-day guidance and mentoring.
- Improve and automate revenue reports, tools, and dashboards using Python, R, and Excel.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of models and tools that support pricing optimization, forecasting, and customer segmentation.
- Analyze booking trends, cancellation behavior, and performance indicators to guide pricing and promotion decisions.
- Collaborate with enterprise data and central data science teams to align on data architecture, model deployment, and governance best practices.
- Partner with pricing, marketing, and sales teams to align data insights with commercial strategies.
- Translate technical findings into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement in revenue management analytics.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
DEGREE TYPE: Bachelor's Degree
FIELD(S) OF STUDY: Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in data science, revenue management, or analytics
- At least 2 years in a people management or team lead role
- Experience with Python and R in a production environment
- Exposure to automated revenue management systems (RMS), ideally in travel or hospitality
- Experience building and applying price elasticity models to inform pricing strategies.
- Demonstrated success using forecasting and price elasticity models to guide business decisions
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:
- Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and data visualization tools
- Strong grasp of statistical modeling, forecasting, and optimization techniques
- Ability to communicate complex data clearly and concisely
- Understanding of revenue management principles and pricing strategy
- Strong collaboration skills; able to work across departments
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Leadership capability to coach and develop team members
- Comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
