Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

Oversees Internal Audit's testing procedures for external audit's direct assistance model and manages SOX testing efforts to ensure compliance with ICFR requirements. Ensures high-quality execution, documentation, and coordination with external auditors, while supporting other internal audit projects. The Manager also helps evolve the audit function by leveraging data analytics, Generative AI, and emerging technologies to increase audit efficiency and insight.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, supervise, and review external audit's direct assistance testing performed by internal audit to ensure compliance with PCAOB standards and external auditor guidance.
  • Act as the primary liaison with the external audit firm for Direct Assistance activities.
  • Oversee Internal Audit's SOX testing responsibilities, including planning, timely execution of testing, review for documentation quality and adherence to methodology.
  • Assist in escalation, monitoring, and validation of issues and Management remediation plans.
  • Monitor testing progress and budget for both SOX and Direct Assistance workstreams to ensure timely delivery, escalate significant issues, and support efficient resource planning.
  • Support audit projects focused on operational, compliance, and financial risks during periods outside of SOX and Direct Assistance peak workloads.
  • Drive innovation within the internal audit function by applying GenAI tools, data analytics, and predictive auditing methodologies.
  • Maintain knowledge of authoritative and regulatory requirements relevant to accounting, auditing, and maritime operations.
  • Perform other job-related functions as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

DEGREE TYPE: Bachelor's Degree

FIELD(S) OF STUDY: Accounting, Finance, or related field of study.

EXPERIENCE

  • 4+ years of external audit & assurance experience required.
  • Big Four or mid-tier public accounting firm, public company and/or Fortune 500 experience strongly preferred.

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS

  • Deep understanding of GAAP, PCAOB standards, SOX 404 requirements, and regulatory issues related to accounting, auditing, maritime matters, and other relevant fields required.
  • Strong project management skills required with a proven ability to plan, execute, and deliver high-quality audit engagements independently and within deadlines.
  • Technologically adept, with familiarity in Generative AI applications and data analytics tools to enhance audit quality and efficiency.
  • Skilled in managing Direct Assistance engagements and experienced in internal audit practices preferred, from planning through reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills (both written and oral), with the ability to present findings, make sound recommendations, and provide actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, coach, and mentor others effectively, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Proactive, forward-thinking, and innovative'continuously seeking to improve audit practices, leverage technology, and strengthen risk management.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to building trust, transparency, and ethical practices.
  • Passionate about the cruise industry and the NCLH's mission, driving continuous improvement, resilience, and excellence in audit execution and team engagement.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or any other certifications preferred, but not required.
