The Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging organization (MSP) designs, builds, and improves mechatronic, robotic and packaging automation technology to fulfill customers orders, make the supply chain more efficient, and achieve Amazon's Climate Pledge goals.

We are seeking a talented and motivated Testing and Validation Engineer to join the ANR10 Quality, Testing and Validation (QTV) Team with a proven track record of delivering results. This role will report to the Manager of Quality within MSP DfS.

You will be responsible for reinventing the norms of Functional Acceptance Testing (FAT) best practices and adapting those practices to fit Amazon peculiar ways. Successful candidate will be adept at driving testing execution, configure technologies, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), developing and monitoring testing processes and establish a Quality Culture. You will be depended on to implement systems in an ambiguous environment to enable faster responses and yield better outputs from product development through sustaining operations. Key job responsibilities

  • Actively support and foster a culture of inclusion
  • Assist in development of manufacturing test solutions for acceptance testing of Mechantronic and packaging applications
  • Execute tests from the Functional Acceptance Testing (FAT) protocol including: Yellow Lining, Power up, hardware checks, start up, static/dynamic checks, machine configurations, backups, quick installs, system upgrades, patching, and recovery
  • Assist with development and validation test system work instructions and training plans
  • Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
  • Troubleshoot, repair, report and escalate electro-mechanical assemblies issues as needed
  • Support commissioning and test execution training for contract manufacturers and system integrators
  • Develop and report testing results to the cross functional team for approval

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technical school degree or similar
  • Hands on work experience on automation systems, robotics and packaging technologies
  • Strong foundational understanding of electrical circuits, power systems, and electro-mechanical components
  • Working knowledge of Industrial Robots such as Fanuc Arm, PLCs based control systems, debugging
  • Good understanding of reading and debugging with electrical schematics
  • Problem-solving mindset with a desire to learn

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or a related technical field
  • Experience with Industrial Controls, Robots Arms, PLC programming & troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of Electrical & Safety Standards, functional safety systems for industrial controls
  • Experience writing and using LabVIEW/TestStand, Linux shell scripting, MATLAB, Codesys or equivalent languages and user interfaces
  • Adaptable and eager to learn new technologies in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
