The Role

The primary focus for this role is to be a key and influential member of our Enterprise Engineering team. You will play a crucial role in empowering other teams across the organisation to adopt and implement engineering and DevSecOps practices. We are looking for someone who will promote a culture of collaboration and reuse to create a more cohesive and efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide support to platform, development and operations teams helping them adopt best practices and tools for DevOps

Automate repetitive tasks and encourage adoption within CI/CD pipelines

Propose and implement time-saving initiatives

Document and train teams on how to monitor and troubleshoot any issues that arise

Integrate security practices at every stage of development and deployment processes

Help to commoditise cloud services and development teams deliverables where possible

Identify engineering limits, bottlenecks and tipping points before they’re reached

Drive the DevOps principles and culture across the organization

Person Specification

Mandatory skillset:

Experience of working as an engineer, working on solutions in Azure, GCP and on-premise

Experience with Terraform

Experience setting up and working with Ansible and Azure DevOps pipelines

Experience working on solutions with integrations between GCP and Azure

Knowledge of Cloud native, microservices and containerized systems

To have a strong desire for continuous improvement and an Agile way of working

Ideally in addition:

Commercial hands-on software delivery, including either implementation and on-going systems administration experience in a previous role using a variety of technologies, or, build and deployment engineering with modern practices

Sound experience in identifying, implementing and maintaining IT solutions / systems in regulated markets / industries

Proven accountability for delivering technical components of both IT or commercial projects and on-going “BAU” programmes

Knowledge and understanding of latest trends in DevOps methodologies, processes and tools, as well as emerging solutions and ability to apply them when appropriate

A strong interest and awareness of all cloud providers and their services
