About this role
Responsible for managing the daily accounts receivable activities required to ensure an accurate accounts receivable system. Oversees the accounts receivable team and ensures federal and agency compliance through account reconciliation, meeting billing requirements, and follow-up. Responsible for reconciliation of customer and student sponsor payor accounts with accounting information to ensure proper posting and collection of past due balances.
What a day of an Accounts Receivable Manager looks like:
- Oversees all accounts receivable functions, including working with staff for timely processing of invoices, collections, third-party billings, tuition payments, and other transactions.
- Guides, leads, reviews, verifies, observes, and manages the work of people reporting directly to you. Monitors and evaluates the performance of your employees.
- Serves as the department subject matter and trains users in the operation of new or modified systems and programs.
- Develops procedures and ensures compliance with federal, state, local institutional laws and regulations.
- Monitors and reconciles balance sheet accounts, including cash and bank reconciliation details, all adjusting work, and matching and reconciling source documents.
- Conducts account analysis and revenue and expenditure review. Analyzes and communicates discrepancies both internally and externally.
- Maintains system and implements new technologies to include testing, data integrity, report generation, and accurate data entry.
- Creates reports and spreadsheets needed to reconcile complex data from multiple sources.
- Liaison among departments, functions, or groups, within and outside the College. Communicates information through various methods to appropriate personnel and others.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor degree
- Four years of related experience
Knowledge of:
- Microsoft Office Professional or similar application
- Accounting principles
Skilled in:
- Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management
- Promoting cooperative behavior and team efforts
Ability to:
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations, and take responsibility for a high level of service
Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements:
- Regular physical attendance required
Preferred, but not a must:
Education and Experience:
- Experience as a lead worker or supervisor
Work Environment and Physical Demand:
- Reach and grasp objects
- Stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Use of video display terminal
- Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills

The minimum base pay for this position starts at $52,240.00 annually; however, the offer may vary based on the candidate’s education and experience.
