We're looking for an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer/SCADA Engineer for our East Central Market to execute exciting and challenging projects. The I&C Engineer will work alongside project teams and under the direction of an I&C/SCADA Group Leader to perform the following tasks:

  • Utilize Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) hardware, Human Machine Interface (HMI) software, and Operational Technology (OT) networks to effectively design and implement Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems for large water/wastewater projects.
  • Develop new and modify existing application programming in PLCs (programmable logic controllers), HMIs (human machine interfaces) and associated components.
  • Design, troubleshoot, and consult on SCADA and Operational Technology networks including servers/workstations, network switches and firewalls.
  • Participate in consulting, design, construction, planning, commissioning/start-up, training, and close-out phase activities.
  • Conduct site visits and testing and make recommendations for control systems improvements and designs.
  • Evaluate and develop alternative control system solutions that meet client requirements.
  • Work with and coordinate SCADA system requirements with other disciplines including civil, structural, architectural, process mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical during the design phase.
  • Work with contractors, and sub-contractors to resolve issues during, construction and commissioning/start-up.
  • Provide general supervision and mentoring to junior staff.
  • Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced consulting environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Drive ownership of health & safety in all aspects of project execution, office and personal environments.

Here's what you'll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • I&C, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering design experience
  • Experience in PLC control systems, P&ID development, control system architecture development, SCADA systems and networks.
  • Experience with industrial PLC programming and hardware implementation: Allen Bradley, Modicon or Siemens preferred.
  • Experience with HMI programming: Rockwell Software (Factory Talk View ME/SE, Components, Historian), Wonderware (InTouch, System Platform, Historian), etc.
  • Experience commissioning of SCADA systems, including troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques to maintain high availability of SCADA systems
  • Professional Engineer License or ability to obtain PE licenses within one year.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Experience in water or wastewater treatment process automation
  • Industrial Networking experience: EtherNet/IP, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP/IP etc.
  • Database experience: Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL
  • Operating System experience: Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft Server 2019
  • Expertise applying the NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 79, UL 508A, etc.

95,300.00

Posted Salary Range: Upper

145,000.00

The base salary range for this position is $95,300.00 to $145,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
