The role

The Foundations Alliance builds the tools and infrastructure that empower engineering teams across HelloFresh. As a Platform Engineer, you’ll play a key role in building highly available, secure, and efficient platforms for frontend, backend, and mobile engineers while ensuring adherence to operational and engineering best practices. Above all, we are seeking people passionate about creating a disproportionate impact on the company through improving engineering productivity and operational excellence.

What you’ll do

• Architect and build infrastructure automation at scale for 1000+ engineers through tools like Terraform and Helm
• Build and enhance fault-tolerant and highly available Kubernetes clusters
• Drive positive change in deployment frequency, lead time to change, change failure rate and mean time to restore metrics
• Consult and cooperate with engineers in developing and implementing best practices in the field of cloud infrastructure and software engineering

What you’ll bring

• Experience building production-scale backend services, CLI tools, or infrastructural components such as Kubernetes operators (preferably in Go or Python)
• Experience working with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with at least one cloud platform (e.g. AWS, Azure, or GCP) and its services
• Good knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
• Strong asynchronous communication and collaboration skills
