Job Summary

Vertiv is hiring a Sr. Director, Global Engineering Processes will be responsible for building a team of Engineering Global Engineering process leads and driving transformational improvements in engineering efficiency, development process cycle time, and design quality by driving best practice identification, process convergence, maximized us of Artificial Intelligence and other digital tools while closely collaborating with business leaders, engineering leaders, and key tool owners. The candidate will receive objectives from the VP Global PMO, senior Business Unit/Product Line leaders, and Executive Leadership Team members while actively soliciting business needs from engineering and business leaders across the company.

This position will be based onsite at either of our Westerville / Delaware, OH locations.

Responsibilities:

  1. (10%) Build a world class team of global engineering process leads that passionately drive engineering process improvement
  2. (35%) Coach and mentor Global Engineering Process leads to establish robust roadmaps to improve engineering efficiency, reduce design cycle time, and improve design quality.
  3. (20%) Partner with the Core Engineering Tools team to ensure seamless interworking of tools and process while co-developing a long term strategy.
  4. (20%) Develop and drive processes that maximize the use of AI and other digital technologies.
  5. (15%) Develop method to drive process adherence and define, track, and improve key metrics (e.g., design cycle time, design hours, rework rates, etc.).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s strongly preferred).
  • 15+ years in engineering product development leadership in complex global engineering organizations
  • 5+ years leading teams focused on engineering process and efficiency improvements
  • Certifications in Design for Six Sigma, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies are a plus.
  • Deep understanding of broad set of engineering tools, systems, and processes across engineering disciplines
  • Proven experience / expertise interacting with C-Suite leadership
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to process improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to travel internationally and interface with global engineering teams.
  • Travel Requirements:
    • 10% travel domestically and internationally as required, with participation in global meetings outside normal working hours.
