Computer Science | IT internship: MATLAB framework development and implementation

ASML

Introduction

The ASML IT R&D Hardware Engineering Department supports the ASML R&D teams that are working on the development of current and future machine components which are part of the Lithography, Metrology and other tools that ASML sells to the leading chipmakers in the world. These machines are extremely complex and require nanometer precision to properly function. As part of this department, the Scientific Computing team supports engineers and researchers in ASML who work with Scientific software such as Python, Julia and MATLAB. The team provides generic services and tools for these development platforms so engineers and researchers can focus and efficiently apply their expertise in their field of knowledge.

Your assignment

As part of the Scientific Computing team you will help us to extend our services for MATLAB.

Key deliverables include:

  • Defining and implement a framework that will be used by MATLAB users to develop (web) applications in MATLAB.
  • Work on a layout manager that is an essential part of professional (web) application development.
  • Investigate current (open-source) solutions and interact with MATLAB developers within ASML and translate their needs and current way of working of building applications to a generic solution that can be deployed concern-wide.
  • Motivate MATLAB users to change their current way of working to the new application framework.

You will have the opportunity to learn from and interact with other team members from diverse specializations---system admins, computer scientists, software developers, backend engineers all working on the same floor within hearing distance.

This is a Bachelor internship for a duration of 4 months, for 4 to 5 days per week (2-3 days onsite). Depending on your study and skills, the scope and duration of the internship can be expanded. The start date of this internship will be as of September 2025.
