The future starts here! Ready to join NXP?
Soft errors are bit errors caused by alpha particles from IC materials or by cosmic neutrons. Soft-error rate (SER) is a potential thread for many NXP product types. The SER that a product observes in the field depends, among others, on the flux of alpha particles that is observed by the sensitive circuits. In some package technologies, e.g., wafer-level chip-scale package (WLCSP), the layers in the back-end stack of the die will fully block or attenuate the alpha-particle flux that reaches the die surface. Your role is to develop a tool to analyze and optimize the alpha-particle induced SER in WLCSP products. The tool will be based on an available model for the attenuation of the alpha flux by layers of material.
Your Team
You will be part of the IVN Quality team, which focuses on the quality of NXP’s automotive networking ICs, both during development and after release. Partly, you will be supervised by the Silicon Reliability team, which has in-depth knowledge of silicon-related failure mechanisms.
