As a Lead Principal SoC Architect, you will act as a key driver in our Platform Architecture team to define scalable architecture solutions for our novel automotive platforms. This position is ideally suited for experienced SoC architects. This position can be filled in Munich and Langen.

In your new role you will:

  • Derive product requirements for the SoC Architecture from application assumptions, stakeholder requirements and system architecture proposals
  • Drive the development of a platform architecture, which will be the foundation of new microcontroller product families; to support this goal, scalable architecture solutions for the different aspects and parts of our microcontroller products have to be defined; they will include multiple compute clusters, external memory interfaces such as LPDDR, gigabit-speed communication links and application specific accelerator subsystems (AI, graphics), all of which have ambitious performance and power targets
  • Be the lead architect for the different platform variants with their multiple devices
  • Define and drive feasibility studies; evaluate solutions with regard to the impact on cost, performance, power and the usability in software
  • Technically guide a community of component architects, designers, physical implementation and verification engineers and drive the decision making in the technical community
  • Ensure the consistency and executability of our architectures
  • Pro-actively drive innovation in the area of microcontroller platform and SoC architecture based on profound understanding of future product needs and industry trends

You have a clear notion of how innovation contributes to the commercial success of the company, you constantly gain new insights by questioning existing assumptions and you inspire others for your ideas explaining even complex issues in a clear and convincing manner. Furthermore, you accept responsibility and accountability for decisions, and you are open to new challenges without knowing the right path to a solution in advance. If you remain aware of the big picture even in complex situations and take decisions despite uncertain circumstances, then you should join our team!

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

  • A degree in electrical engineering, computer science or similar
  • At least 8 years of experience in technical roles in the area of SoC architectures and design and/or implementation in leading edge technology nodes
  • Profound understanding of high-performance SoC architectures for real-time applications
  • Experience with
  • multi-core subsystems, interconnects, and memory hierarchies
  • Knowledge in power management and low power techniques
  • Functional Safety and Security knowledge (e.g. experience with development according to ISO26262 or ISO21434) would be a plus
  • Experience with architecture exploration and Performance, Power, and Area (PPA) estimation
  • Automotive domain knowledge is an essential plus i.e. in terms of microcontroller and processor architectures for automotive applications
  • Professional self-organization and leadership skills
  • Excellent communicator and mediator skills
  • The ability to work in cross-functional teams and in a multi-cultural environment
  • Fluent English language skills, German is a plus
