We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Material Engineer specializing in metal and ceramic components to join our dynamic and international team focused on power module packaging materials. This position concentrates on the critical materials and components that form the backbone of power modules, such as baseplates, substrates, and pins.

In your new role you will:

• Take over material responsibility for ceramic substrates and stamped and formed metal parts typically made from copper (baseplates, bus bars, connectors) as procured goods for further processing in our power module production, ensuring superior performance, reliability, manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
• Participate in power module development and cost optimization projects responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of material related work packages such as analyses at internal and external laboratories.
• Perform or assign material characterization and derive new test methods, and material specifications for the assessment and release of new materials, suppliers and processes
• Collaborate with cross-site, international teams across Germany and Hungary from R&D, procurement, supply chain and production to align on material selection, qualification processes, and quality standards.
• Solve challenges related to materials and components as well as power module production.
• Support supplier management by defining specifications, assessing new suppliers, and ensuring material quality through a close partnership with our suppliers.

In your daily work you show the will to never stop learning and pursue high quality. You have a clear notion of how innovation and cost engineering contribute to the commercial success of the company. With your proactive mindset you have a curious and methodical way of working combined with an analytical and logical mindset. Your consolidated experience in material sciences makes you an expert in this field. Moreover, your great communication skills allied with a strong customer and innovation orientation make you the right person for these tasks. With your excellent network skills, agile mindset and intercultural competencies you establish and maintain useful technical networks.

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

• A university degree in material sciences, physics, mechanical engineering or equivalent
• Strong background in experimental material characterization and experience with stamping and forming or forging production processes.
• At least 3+ years of professional experience in the industrial field of material sciences or mechanical engineering, preferably semiconductor power module development.
• Preferably, experience with CAD software tools.
• Preferentially, first knowledge of power semiconductors and the respective back-end processing.
• Willingness to travel.
• Excellent communication skills in Hungarian, English and preferentially German.
