Senior Engineering Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide strategic direction, leadership, management, and coordination of the Engineering function within a local division / product group. Each day, you will initiate, coordinate, drive, and oversee team development and continual improvement of processes and procedures to strengthen the engineering and design capability. You will also showcase your expertise by driving the team’s performance to ensure assigned engineering operations are executed successfully. You will be mainly accountable for: 1. **Team Leadership & Custom Product Development:** - Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers and designers specializing in client-customized product development. - Oversee the end-to-end design process, ensuring deliverables align with client specifications, quality standards, and timelines. - Foster cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance to translate customer requirements into actionable engineering solutions. 2. **Digital Transformation of Design Processes:** - Spearhead the development and implementation of digital tools (e.g., CAD/PLM/ERP integrations, AI-driven design automation) to streamline workflows and enhance team efficiency. - Drive adoption of collaborative platforms and data-driven decision-making frameworks to optimize design iterations and reduce time-to-market. - Evaluate emerging technologies (e.g., generative design, simulation software) to maintain cutting-edge capabilities. 3. **Product Platform Optimization:** - Architect and refine modular product platforms to balance customization scalability with cost efficiency. - Conduct lifecycle analyses to identify opportunities for standardization, component reuse, and performance enhancements. - Collaborate with R&D and Product Management to align platform strategies with long-term business goals.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field;
• 5+ years in engineering roles, with 3+ years in leadership positions managing custom product development teams.
• Proven track record in deploying digital design tools (e.g., SolidWorks, PTC Windchill, Teamcenter) and process automation.
• Expertise in product platforming, DFMEA, and design-for-manufacturability (DFM) principles.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills to balance innovation, compliance, and operational constraints.
• Outstanding communication skills to engage stakeholders to achieve excellent goals.
• Customer-centric approach with a focus on translating complex needs into scalable solutions.
• Passion for continuous improvement and fostering a culture of data-driven innovation.
