Position Summary
The EP/Cath Lab Technologist (PRN) is responsible to the Team Leader and Department Manager. He/she works in a work team committed to a common purpose and goals. The technologist promotes the mission of the hospital by enabling quality patient care in a cost effective environment. In this role, they assess, plan, implement and evaluate radiological services in interventional cardiology consistent with professional practice standards to optimize patient outcomes and promote interdisciplinary communication. He/she is responsible to practice within their scope of licensure in accordance with approved policies, procedures and protocols. The technologist contributes to positive outcomes and meeting the cultural expectations of the organization by exhibiting professional behavior and expertise. He/she shares responsibility for all aspects of patient and team functions. Must identify opportunities for and contribute to the improvement of quality, safety and cost, as well as patient, customer, employee satisfaction.

Standard Work: EP/Cath Lab Technologist (PRN)
- Actively participates in team development, achieving dashboards, and in accomplishing department goals and objectives.
- Demonstrates competencies identified by center and/or department and demonstrates competency of pediatric/geriatric age specific criteria so that desired patient outcomes are met.
- Competently operates and troubleshoots all equipment necessary to provide the full spectrum of procedures so that patient care is delivered in a safe and timely fashion.
- Consistent and accurate charging of procedures and supplies, places signature on charge sheets, labeling of digital images is accurate and complete, LV ejection fraction documentation is performed and documented on data collection sheets and all necessary information is recorded so that patients are billed appropriately and the required data collection is complete.
- Contributes to the profession through involvement/participation in governance of practice, development and supervision of peers and colleagues, professional organizations, education and/or community activities so that continual self development is evident.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills required to scrub and circulate all cardiac/vascular and surgical procedures. This is accomplished when all of the following are met: a.) anticipates needs of the cardiologist according to procedure and individual physician preference for supplies and equipment. b) maintains correct count of sponges, needles and instruments. c) properly handles and identifies all solutions, medication and specimens according to hospital and department policy.
- Demonstrates appropriate behaviors that focus on patient and customer satisfaction so that patient and customer expectations are exceeded.
- Demonstrates appropriate behaviors that focus on employee satisfaction and improve staff loyalty so that voluntary first year employee turnover is reduced.
- Develops a personal development plan at the beginning of all probationary periods and within the first three months of each fiscal year and provides a copy to the supervisor so opportunities for improvement are identified. Documents continued progress toward identified goals. Holds self and others accountable for adherence to defined behaviors and provides appropriate constructive feedback to team members to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Consistently demonstrates efficient use of all hospital resources, actively participates in activities that promote stewardship, respect for facilities and equipment, management of supply and drug expenses, improved product utilization, product safety, labor cost management, and process improvement so that the hospital's quality and financial goals are met.

Qualifications & Experience

- High School or Equivalent
Essential:
- AART Registered Technologist in Radiology, Registered Respiratory Therapist, or Graduate from a two year Cardiovascular Technology Program.
Other information:
Certifications Essential: License to practice occupation in the State of Florida as required. Certifications: Per department or hospital requirements and relevant policies. CVT graduates must pass the Registered Cardiovascular Specialist Certification(RCIS) within one year of hire date.
