About the Role:

Arnot Health is currently seeking a dedicated and organized Laboratory Support Services Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our Clinical Laboratory Assistants, Specimen Receiving & Processing, and Courier Services teams. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for staff supervision, quality assurance, and ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient laboratory support services across the system.

What You’ll Do:

  • Supervise and support day-to-day operations of non-technical laboratory support services
  • Provide working knowledge and technical expertise in specimen processing and lab support workflows
  • Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and corrective actions
  • Maintain compliance with Arnot Health, New York State, and federal laboratory standards
  • Develop, review, and update SOPs in alignment with NCCLS/CLSI guidelines
  • Collaborate with internal departments and leadership to resolve problems and improve processes
  • Track, document, and report staff competencies, incidents, and service quality metrics
  • Oversee inventory levels and enforce proper chemical safety (SDS) awareness
  • Serve as a liaison with Medical Directors, Lab Managers, and hospital staff for support service needs
  • Support lab-related projects, audits, and quality initiatives as needed
  • Deliver friendly, responsive service to patients, staff, and providers

What We’re Looking For:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or a related science preferred

Experience:

  • Prior supervisory or lead experience in a healthcare, lab, or clinical support setting preferred
  • Knowledge of NYSED Clinical Laboratory Science regulations (if licensed)

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced lab environment
  • Proficient in laboratory software and information systems
  • Commitment to teamwork, patient safety, and service excellence

Physical & Work Requirements:

  • Light to moderate physical activity (standing, lifting, walking)
  • Typical clinical laboratory environment
  • Exposure Category I: Potential exposure to blood and body fluids; PPE provided
