As a Vibration Analyst in Predictive Maintenance at Minerals Digital, you'll be the domain expert helping to design, validate, and refine a machine-learning-based predictive maintenance system. You'll collaborate closely with AI developers, software engineers, and product stakeholders to translate vibration signals into meaningful insights that support predictive maintenance and equipment reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise on vibration monitoring of pumps, motors, compressors, and similar rotating equipment
  • Support the design of signal preprocessing pipelines and feature extraction methods for raw time-series vibration data
  • Collaborate with AI developers to incorporate domain-specific knowledge (e.g., fault frequencies, severity scaling, modulation patterns) into machine learning models
  • Review and interpret model outputs to assess accuracy and help identify root causes of detected anomalies
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Acoustics, Condition Monitoring, or a related technical field
  • Strong background in vibration analysis and condition monitoring of rotating machinery
  • Hands-on experience with signal processing techniques such as FFT, envelope detection, and time-domain analysis
  • Ability to interpret vibration patterns and relate them to specific failure modes (e.g., bearing defects, misalignment)
