Objectives of the Position:
- Promote and differentiate BASF as a value-adding, technically excellent and professional client-driven company in the manufacture and supply of "Solutions" to the Mining Industry.
- Lead the development of BASF Flotation business in Indonesia from a technical point of view and manage the technical interactions between key customers and account managers.
Main Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities:
- Interact regularly with current and potential customers, understand their processes, and key issues, and identify new business opportunities focused on solving such key issues.
- Prepare project proposals for customers in collaboration with account management and with focus on the technical proving the effectiveness of our solutions.
- Facilitate formulation selection for identified opportunities.
- Lead, plan, design, and conduct pilot and industrial trials at customer sites, demonstrating the ability to manage all aspects of the work independently
- Support account managers with technical service and troubleshoot severe technical issues at customer sites.
- Provide technical training to internal colleagues, be part of the technical community and spread technical knowhow and expertise amongst team members.
- Collaborate with external partners with a focus on engineering firms, consultants, academia and testing laboratories.
- Ensure personal EHS compliance - Think Safety, Act Safely, every day.
Job Requirements:
- University degree – preferably in Chemistry, Metallurgy or Chemical/Mining Engineering or comparable working experience.
- A minimum of 5 years’ direct experience in the mineral processing industry, including technical development or operations experience at multiple sites/operations.
- Proven application experience and understanding of mining processes and associated chemicals.
- Network in related industries is a plus.
- Must be capable of working in a multi-tasking environment, be team-oriented and be able to handle difficult situations and solve problems efficiently & effectively.
- Willingness to engage in travel nationally (and internationally) at least 50% of the time.
- Good English skills are a plus.
