The Material Engineer for Ultrasound Probes is responsible for the development and standardization of the material for ultrasound probe and assisting for mass production.

Job Description

Duties include (but are not limited to):

1.Responsible for the development and validation of new material (adhesives, primer, piezoelectric ceramic, single crystal, acoustic lens, match layer, backing, thermal material, etc.)

2.Participate in the development of production process for new material 3.Participate in the technology roadmap development for new material

4.Work with the cross-function team to qualify new material suppliers to ensure the supplier’s technical capability and production capacity & quality can meet our requirements

5.Use the expertise in material to provide continuous supports for NPI, ATD, and VCP projects

6.Collaborate with design engineer and manufacturing engineer to assess the change or material deviation and solve IB problems

Quality Specific Goals:

1.Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position

2.Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines

3.Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required

4.Ensure compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Outputs/Program Deliverables

5.Lead continuous improvement activities by driving the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

1.Master or PhD in Materials or Chemical Engineering

2.More than 5 years’ experience for Master and 3 years’ experience for PhD in developing new materials and designing new processes with strong troubleshooting experience

3.Proficiency in the knowledge theory of adhesives (epoxy, cyanoacrylate), chemicals and primer knowledge theory of adhesives (epoxy, cyanoacrylate) and additive industrial processes

4.Familiar with the process and test method of material configuration and have the experience of epoxy resin bonding process.

5.Experience in developing ultrasound transducers is a plus

6.Familiar with the properties of acoustic material (piezoelectric ceramic, single crystal, acoustic lens, backing, and match layer) is a plus.

7.Proficiency in English communicate with cross-functional team members
