Sunday thru Thurs 6:00PM-2:30AM

Summary

The Quality Lab Technician is primarily responsible for obtaining test samples, performing testing procedures according to standard operating

procedures (SOPs), and documenting and distributing test results to applicable persons to ensure products meet Ashley’s customers’ needs. When

test results indicate a need for immediate managerial action, this position will advise as such in a timely manner. This position is also responsible

administering cross-training to other lab technicians as well.

Responsibilities

• Obtain samples for testing according to standard operating procedures (SOPs). Samples are to be tested by strictly utilizing the prescribed
• methods.
• Assist in the periodic revising or developing of SOPs based on customer’s feedback and historical experiences.
• Accurately compile and enter test results into appropriate systems.
• Dispose of samples according to standard operating procedures.
• Communicate out of spec test results to the Lab Manager and other appropriate personnel in a timely manner. Review physical samples with the
• Lab Manager to reach congruency that the item is out of spec and aid in the determination of the appropriate course of action.
• Periodically Cross-train other team members to ensure consistency and efficient use of staff.
• Communicate company and departmental issues and goals and facilitate employee growth and development through weekly team meetings,
• regular individual employee meetings, coaching, training, and company-offered learning opportunities.
• Demonstrate the Company’s Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functions.
• Maintain reliable attendance.
• Support and ensure Ashley Furniture’s policies and procedures are followed.
• Actively participate in departmental meetings, training and education. Assist with training other employees and providing backup.
• Complete other assignments and special projects as requested.

What Do You Need?

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in a testing environment
