QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma with sufficient relevant experience; certificate
program preferred
License/Certifications: Must hold and maintain a CPC certification
Experience: Minimum of 1 yr. experience in a healthcare environment
Responsible to: Professional Coding Manager

SUMMARY:
Codes and enters data from medical documentation; interfaces effectively with
computers systems, including Meditech, 3M Encoder, eClinical Works, EDIMS, and
Meditech. Interfaces effectively and with computer systems and their users to
maintain efficient system utilization; monitors system utilization and
recommends appropriate revisions to processes, procedures, and operations. Must
have ability to work well with individuals from different disciplines who have
varying degrees in business and technical expertise. Must be very familiar with
HIPAA regulations related to working with PHI; must have a moderate
understanding of medical terminology, disease processes, healthcare finance,
and billing processes. Must maintain coding accuracy of 90% or better based
upon quarterly audits, both internal and external; preferably 95%. Must have
good interpersonal relationship skills
Salary Range: $21.00 – $33.00
