Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma (or equivalent) with healthcare experience

required, Associates degree preferred, not required.

Experience: Experience in a high paced healthcare environment with expertise in

customer service is preferred, not required.

Skills: Must have interpersonal skills to handle confidential information

and sensitive situation and ability to work with diverse group of people within

and outside of the organization. Strong computer and telephone skills. Ability

to prioritize work.

Summary:

The ED/ADM Patient Access Representatives is the initial point of service for

patient, visitors, family members and staff in the Emergency Department and

Admissions Office. This position performs imperative duties, including but not

limited to, registration, insurance verification, telephone coverage, data

entry, protecting patient health information and point of service collections,

bed coordination and bed management, insurance admission notification,

transportation assistance and authorization, while maintaining patient

relations and customer satisfaction. The position requires a compassionate

balance to enhance the integrity of collected information and to appropriately

distribute information to required entities. The individual must be

conscientious and detailed who can move through duties rapidly.

The Patient Access Representative would have responsibility overseeing

inpatient and emergent services. It is necessary to stay abreast of new

developments in an ever-changing environment to meet State and Federal

standards. Patient Access Representatives must display professionalism and

exhibit utmost confidence in order for patients/public to be confident in our

quality of care. Individuals must be sensitive in the collection and

distribution of diagnostic and personal information. This position requires

the ability to work well with physicians, staff and public (including, but not

limited to, Nursing Homes, Transport Companies, Payers and Primary Care sites).

Salary Range: $18.00 – $28.00
