Duties:
Analyze Rolling Mill processes from billet reheat to finished product to identify process improvements and enhance safety; Update department on combustion and combustion controls technology;
Assess current processes against new technology and make recommendations; Coordinate CapEx projects; Manage, troubleshoot, maintain, and train on guide alignment and combustion systems;
Design, install, and commission new product units, monitor modifications and upgrades, and troubleshoot existing processes; Define scope and material section for
RHF maintenance;
Maintain equipment under NFPA regulations;
Coordinate activities related to Rolling Mill and Finishing projects;
Assists in planning work assignments;
Train employees on implementing new processes;
Conduct process development experiments prior to implementation;
Collect and interpret data on new equipment and processes, analyze data, and
discuss findings with management;
Create and maintain a departmental/project budget;
Coordinate capital planning, requisitioning, and monitoring of improvement projects with appropriate parties;
Support consistent and sustainable performance through standardization and measurable results through KPIs;
Confer with management on implementation of quality and reliability standards;
Ensures compliance with established quality and environmental standards.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy Engineering, or Material Science Engineering.
Experience as: Process Engineering or any job title that yields the required experience.
Required Experience: 3 years of process engineering experience in Rolling Mill Operations. This experience must include working at a bar, rod, or section mill; experience with Pusher Reheat Furnace operations; and troubleshooting Rolling Mill control systems.
