ASRC Federal requires a highly motivated Electrical Engineer at the Air Force Research Lab, Edwards, AFB, CA. to support the ASTROS Contract. We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to be a part of our team. The Electrical Engineer will guide the setup and sustainment of test structures and test information systems at the Air Force Research Laboratory
Key Role:
- Assists Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) by providing technical direction to instrumentation and control technicians
- Assists in the planning of I&C build-up activities for test programs
- Takes the lead on troubleshooting difficult instrumentation and control problems
- Ensures best practices are followed in programming and test stand work
- Trains new I&C technicians on basic I&C principles as well as data and control systems
- Understands and can apply control theory to control valve systems
- Oversees and can provide backup for programmers on the Allen-Bradley control system, and data system operators (Pacific and DataMAX)
- Ensures data quality, and can analyze and provide end-to-end system uncertainty to customers
- May provide work leadership and training to lower level professional and technical staff
- Will serve as the backup for the primary PCON Operator/Programmer
- Understand and the ability to apply Control Theory to Control Valve Systems
- Ability to work with and direct instrumentation and controls technicians
- Experience troubleshooting difficult instrumentation and controls problems
- Understanding of data uncertainty concepts
- Multi-PC Control Room and Facility Server Equipment selection, configuration, installation, periodic updates and operation; security and malware protection applications
- Basic Computer Programing skills (Visual Basic VB6, VB.NET, LabVIEW, MATLAB/Simulink, Ladder Logic
- Experience troubleshooting difficult instrumentation and controls problems
- Understanding of data uncertainty concepts
- Allen Bradley programming experience
- Data Systems programming experience
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience
- BA Degree
- Must be a US Citizen to meet government contract requirements.
- Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance.
