The County of Santa Barbara’s Auditor-Controller’s Office is seeking a dynamic and experienced Division Chief (classification title: Financial Services Manager III) to lead a full-service fiscal unit. This is an at-will position and is exempt from the civil service system.

This high-impact leadership role oversees strategic areas including accounting, budgeting, debt management, and financial analysis, Reporting to executive leadership, the successful candidate will guide complex financial operations, manage multidisciplinary teams, and play a vital role in shaping department-wide fiscal policy and strategy.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned finance professional with advanced knowledge of GASB, GAAP, and government financial regulations. They bring proven expertise in budget development, financial planning, auditing, grants management, and procurement. Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with demonstrated project management capabilities and a process-oriented mindset.

Paid Time Off
