KerberRose is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Administrative Intern to join our team and assist with various accounting and tax-related tasks. This internship is an excellent opportunity for accounting students eager to gain practical, hands-on experience in a professional office setting. The Administrative Intern will play a key role in supporting the tax preparation process, managing client documentation, and working with accounting software. This position offers a well-rounded experience to develop valuable skills in tax preparation, project management, client relations, and office administration.

The Administrative Internship will be conducted from January 2026 to April 2026 and will be scheduled to work 20-40 hours a week, depending on the candidate's preference.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and assembly of individual and business tax returns by retrieving completed tax returns from electronic filing software (GoFileRoom) and organizing them according to client preferences.
  • Manage and organize client tax documents (e.g., W-2s, 1099s, K-1s) through various methods, including electronic client portals, mail, in-person drop-offs, and Safesend.
  • Enter data and documents into specialized tax processing software (e.g., SurePrep) and track projects using electronic project management software (FirmFlow).
  • Interact with clients, answer inquiries, and provide assistance with tax-related matters, including explaining the process, e-file forms, estimates, and other tax information, as well as managing document collection, appointment scheduling, and payment processing.
  • Support the preparation of business engagement letters and assist with various tasks related to servicing business clients.
  • Gain hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g., pressure sealers, scanners) and software tools, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Adobe) and Thomson Reuters.
  • Assist with accounts receivable collections and online payment processing.
  • Contribute to additional projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accounting program (preferred but not required)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic knowledge of tax preparation processes is a plus, but on-the-job training will be provided
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and Adobe)
