CONTROLS ENGINEER

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work alongside the process engineering and product change teams on projects that support plant operations – Process changes due to customer requests (new programs) and/or internal projects (continuous improvement).
  • Actively lead problem-solving analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Participate in the preparation and updating of engineering system documents related to their area of operation, performing audits under their responsibility.
  • Comply with the company’s safety standards and properly use the required PPE, as well as report unsafe conditions and actions using safety systems and policies.
  • Develop complete automation solutions focused on productivity, efficiency, reliability, and safety.
  • Configure and program PLCs, HMIs, and both conventional and collaborative industrial robots.
  • Configure, program, and integrate vision systems for inspection, quality, and traceability applications.
  • Configure, program, and integrate electronic torque tools for assembly applications.
  • Execute tests and validations of automated and robotic systems.
  • Participate in technical meetings with multidisciplinary teams and clients, presenting solutions and contributing technically to the projects.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation: diagrams, operation manuals, test plans, etc.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance, production, quality, and process engineering areas.
  • Participate in validation, testing, and continuous improvement of implemented systems.

EXPECTATIONS

  • Interface with all aspects of operations, including Quality and IT.
  • Availability for shift work.
  • Understand Android operations systems (programming).
  • Interface daily with Android factory contacts regarding any issues.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Control and Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Software Engineering, and/or related fields.
  • Experience in programming PLCs, HMIs, robots, vision systems, scanners, and electronic torque tools.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols: PROFIBUS, PROFINET, Modbus, among others.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control diagrams.

DIFFERENTIALS

  • English language skills.
  • Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems.
  • Experience and/or certifications (Siemens, Cognex, Keyence, Atlas Copco, Yaskawa, Universal Robots, etc).
  • Experience and/or certifications in industrial networks and integration of various systems.
  • Knowledge of NR-12 safety standards.
